چکیده
Bacteria use cell to communication system called quorum sensing (QS) share information about density and adjust gene expression accordingly. Processes controlled by QS include biofilm formation, virulence factor secretion swarming, responsible for bacteria harmful on the skin. Here we observed of two opportunistic skin bacteria: S. aureus (Sa) P. aeruginosa (Pa). Sa strongly disturbs barrier function secreting lipase forming a biofilm. For its part, Pa expresses an arsenal factors behavior like swarming which are under control molecules such as Acyl-homoserine lactone (3-oxo-C12 HSL) Pseudomonas Quinolone Signal (PQS). ATCC35556 was seeded alone, with reference inhibition (Glycyrrhizic ammonium salt at 0.2%) or plant extract (PE) 0.4%. After incubation, centrifugated filtered supernatants were incubated substrate measure activity fluorescence. 8h culture, formation visualized confocal microscopy. ATCC 15692 cultured (furanone PE quantified culture media HPLC-MS. 24h bacterial measured image analysis. We first evidenced that have no direct impact growth. Then, in decreased both (-24%) (-28%). Moreover, also reduced PE. Finally, significant decrease 3-oxo-C12-HSL PQS respectively -87% -97% furanone -72% -24% Additionally, (-67%). Taken altogether, these results demonstrated may be able effect silencing molecule mechanisms without affecting

Quorum sensing in plant-pathogenic bacteria.
Quorum sensing (QS) allows bacteria to assess their local population density and/or physical confinement via the secretion and detection of small, diffusible signal molecules. This review describes how phytopathogenic bacteria have incorporated QS mechanisms into complex regulatory cascades that control genes for pathogenicity and colonization of host surfaces. Traits regulated by QS include th...
متن کاملKin selection, quorum sensing and virulence in pathogenic bacteria
Bacterial growth and virulence often depends upon the cooperative release of extracellular factors excreted in response to quorum sensing (QS). We carried out an in vivo selection experiment in mice to examine how QS evolves in response to variation in relatedness (strain diversity), and the consequences for virulence. We started our experiment with two bacterial strains: a wild-type that both ...
متن کاملQuorum sensing in bacteria.
Quorum sensing is the regulation of gene expression in response to fluctuations in cell-population density. Quorum sensing bacteria produce and release chemical signal molecules called autoinducers that increase in concentration as a function of cell density. The detection of a minimal threshold stimulatory concentration of an autoinducer leads to an alteration in gene expression. Gram-positive...
متن کاملVisualizing Bacteria Quorum Sensing
Large populations of bacteria communicate by sending into the environment some specific signalling molecules. A bacterium will sense the population density by the concentration of the signalling molecule. This process, known as “quorum sensing”, is used in this paper to show the emergent behaviour of a bacterium colony in various circumstances. The biochemistry associated with quorum sensing ha...
